About Us
Formed over 15 years ago, Polyphony is a community choir for residents of Sydney’s Inner West and City of Sydney. Polyphony has been directed by some of Australia’s leading contemporary and classical musicians including Sally Whitwell, Dan Walker, and Corin Bone. Since 2004, our musical director is Jack Colwell and we are accompanied by Paula Lu. In 2025, we will be guest conducted by Oliver John Cameron.
Joining Enquiries
The choir does not keep a waitlist so please contact us in Jan/Feb 2025 or June/July 2025 to enquire at the start of a new season.
It is not required, but please let us know if you have any musical background or have sung in choirs before as part of your enquiry.
Polyphony rehearses weekly on Wednesdays from 7:30-9:30pm in Petersham and each new member is welcome to join us for a 2 week free trial.
Polyphony is not currently accepting new Altos, however we welcome you to consider singing either Soprano 2 or Tenor if your range allows.
